Welcome to Virginia Commonwealth University SIAM Student Chapter

We are a student organization sponsored by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and the Department of Statistical Sciences and Operations Research at Virginia Commonwealth University. Our purpose is to promote interest in applied mathematics and computational science by organizing activities and encourage interdisciplinary participation by students from many departments on campus.

Our primary goals are:

• To foster the application of mathematics and computational science to industry and academics.
• To provide a community for exchange of information and ideas among mathematicians, engineers, and scientists.
• To facilitate career opportunities for students.
• To encourage and promote students for developing effective presentation and leadership skill.
